HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY, DAR!!!



darrell quek lye mong! happy birthday, haha! now dar is a wiser gorilla le, must feed chimpanzee bb more bananas so that she will not be so pea-brain too! =P chimp-b wishes her gorilla all the best in his coming year, and chimp-b wants to cut birthday cake with gorilla every year! =D

sorry bb can't plan anything big for dar because bb has to go for her moe interview in the afternoon >_<" but bb's glad dar's by her side for this big occasion in her life, bb really wants to get into nie and be a good teacher in the future! the best part is that bb gets to be in the same profession as dar! =D

dar's 2nd month surprise was bringing me to the zoo! i'm such a zoo person, i turn into a kid again and start prancing around at the sight of the animals. very very fun!

as a kid, daddy used to bring my family for our yearly pilgrimage to the zoo every chinese new year. seriously, it was a really yearly event, i have dated photographs of us at the zoo as evidence! hehe!

dar, acted blur about our surprise destination and kept me guessing until we boarded bus 138 from ang mo kio. giveaway number 1! then he tried to throw me off the scent by deluding me that we were going on a food hunt (bus 138 passes by the famous casurina road roti prata and curry fish head). but the bus zoomed past and i knew we were en route to the zoo, lol, wasn't i excited! =D


singapore zoological gardens! world famous one! this is the newly upgraded entrance, anybody can recollect the older versions?


at cheers, we chanced upon rows after rows of ... giraffe soft toys! ahhh! my lovelies!

and the journey began thus ...


one of the first animals we saw, this is a siamang. i swear this monkey has muscles bigger than that of dar's. haha! =P


the information board tells us that this species is known the mugger crocodile. these crocodiles are very studious oke, don't play play!


pretty star tortoises! =D they are illegal as pets, but my cousin and cousin-in-law used to have a pair! i never knew how they got around to obtaining the tortoises, but i remember that ww and i fed them cabbages when we visited zhen during her confinement. then en grew older and the tortoises had to go >_<"


aren't these absolutely adorable? there are 4 of them eating nuts in the same posture in this picture!

we went into the open-air jungle trail and i freaked out again as birds and butterflies fluttered about freely around me. but dearie dar was always there to shield me =D later, while we neared the exit, we got chased by monkeys >_<" i hid behind the exit doors while this monkey clung on and banged the door on the other side. poor dar stayed in the trail area to take this photograph and got chased again a little. very scary!

oh right. i am so facing a major DILEMMA.

i have christmas carolling at four season's hotel this coming saturday, and the next too.

but there are going to be madness sales happening at marina square, citylink mall and suntec city on theses saturdays too! i've already missed the shishedo and elizabeth arden sales last weeks, i don't want to miss out on these as well!

but i don't really have much moolah left =( stopped tuition during the months of october and november because the kids were done with their examinations. sighs!

so go carolling or borrow moolah from sister to go shop? tough decision leh! >_<"

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY!!!


zhen jie held en's birthday party last sunday, complete with yummilicious mee siam and poh piah buffet. it is pretty interesting to attend a baby's party, most of the guests are either more babies or toddlers with parents in tow! there'll be lots of baby garble, screaming and even crying! hehe!

there was this pretty little girl with big sparkling eyes who behaved so sweetly that all those who were present were so captivated by her demureness! both ah-di-shu-shu and er-gu-gu agreed in unison that i was like her when i was a kiddo. very very guai and sweet. but very hiao :P mummy also claims that i was the type of kid who would sit quietly on the chair and not move til i was given permission to do so. so guai right! haha!

then i also couldn't take my eyes off this little cute boy who was waddling around the dining area, digging his chubby hands into the waste bin and pulling out various used plates and cups, ie creating a mess in his own pleasure. haha! kids are just so adorable eh? =D

i love little kiddos! teehee! and i'm glad dar love kids as well! i didn't know that dar adored kids too until i saw him play with little tes(s?)a from wernie's. the little chimpy was crawling all over dar, giggling for her uncle darrell to play with her =D

dar doesn't look like a person who will do mushy stuff for his girlfriend, but he is really terribly sweet.

my papers were 9am to 11am and 1pm to 3pm, so i was quite happy that dar came to school to accompany me for lunch. lunch was at the yih canteen with dar, danial, isabel, ee-laine and their friends. i like the fish and chips as well as the nasi briyani sold at the yih western food stall =D i think i was pretty mean, isa was trying to make small talk but i was so preoccupied with my last-minute memorising of japanese phrases that i didn't respond much.

anyways, dar and i left the gang early to get to lt11 for my paper and dar took my transponder so that he could rest in my room while i had my paper.

little did i know that he had a end-of-examinations surprise for me too >_<"

dar filled my room with balloons, and made me go on my treasure hunt, teehee, i couldn't stop smiling that day =)

so i was feeling like shit when dar finished his literary stylistics paper just now. i think it is really a sucky feeling to have late papers when most of your friends have already finished theirs. sighs. so i was oh-so grouchy as i revised japanese.

but my ever-sweet dar tried to cheer me up in his special way again =) he told a white lie and ran off to get caramel frappaccino so that i would mug for my last papers. there was also a special cheesecake too =D
