a special event occurred last saturday night =)
my primary school class, 6A'1996 of zhonghua primary school, had this sudden urge to meet up after like 11 years after graduation. i missed the first gathering which took place in june because i was in hong kong, so i really wanted to attend the second one to see how we had changed over the years.
it was pretty amazing to meet up again. 18 of us turned up at fionafoo's place at sengkang and i must say that her apartment is damn chio can. it's like one of those designer houses that you see on tv, she and her husband must have spent a fortune dolling up their home-sweet-home. i was inspired to get married to darrell straight away so that i could also doll up my own place, but we money no enough to do so leh, sobs.
i digress.
the education system in singapore is such that we all go through it in a mad rush, so i guess we were all too busy with school to find time to meet. it is often only upon graduation from school life that you start reminiscing about the days you spent as students and that's when there is the desire to meet to see how everyone else is doing.
i guess many people who are already in adulthood would have vague memories of their primary school life and would probably not remember the funny things that we had done as children. i've always thought that i was the weird one who could remember the names of all my primary school classmates and even who were best friends with whom.
so i was pleasantly surprised when we started reminiscing about our childhood days. most of them could remember certain significant events, like who liked who and who sat next to who. the guys started complaining about how the girls used to pinch and bully them, hehe, those were the days of boys vs girls rivalry.

to summarise a little: leeteng is now an up-and-coming tv host; bennylee is our rich towkaylee complete with a knn chio SLK, vertu cellphone and montblant pen; fiona and kershin are getting married next may; fiona, kaiwei, jiamei, liping, june, angelinechen and yanting are working in the private sector; helin and feiee are still job-hunting; kershin and i are teachers; aidi, kiankiat, kokwai, xiwen and lloyd are still studying.
we got so carried away that some of us who are still studying are planning to make and present a teachers' day card to mrs foo, our teacher who saw us through since primary 4 on teachers' day. we're calling for old photographs and signatures to be included in the card, let's hope that most of us will make the effort to jpeg some over to aidi and lloyd =) we're so sweet eh? =)
