    crying for help
    Wednesday, January 30, 2008

a plaque sits on my table, remnant of the previous teacher who used to occupy my seat. it is an inspiring one, being a teacher's day present from the yesteryears.

it reads, "Teachers, Live Forever in the Hearts they Touch."

i don't think i have touched any hearts here yet.

the amount of effort put in to simplify what is in the textbook, to make information concise yet substantial, to illustrate using images and videos for deeper understanding, everything becomes nothing.

    i despair.

    unhappy
    Monday, January 14, 2008

it's the beginning of week 3, my 10th day of teaching, and i'm very very unhappy with my current situation. i don't know what else i can do, or how i can make things change for the better. it's not fun to sit at my desk in the staff room and shed tears everyday. i'm already counting down to the holidays, and more importantly, counting down the days of my bond. i'm that depressed.

    first post of year 2008
    Tuesday, January 01, 2008

i haven't been in the mood to update lately but here's the first post of year 2008! =)

2007 was an eventful year, with good and bad times.

it had been a turbulent year for my darling and i. still, i have to thank darling for trying his best to keep us going. i just hope for year 2008 to be a better one.

i'll never forget the memorable time spent with my nie besties! we spent stressful afternoons together trying to complete our group assignments, survived the dreadful practicum, had lots of fun in our chalets and enjoyed various birthday celebrations together! =) muacks accident-prone minghui, ppt princess jolin, pretty aiai georgina, shopping queen yijun, soon-to-be-bride angeline, pretty yinjern, diva DJ Hong xiaohui and pretty mummy grace! i love my fellow lady geographers!

i've also accepted (though there was no choice haha!) the fact that i would be leaving bowen and i'm looking forward to teaching noisy, active, cheeky boys in sas. whether i'll remain in the teaching profession depends on whether i'm able to survive my bond years in sas, i certainly hope i'll have a good time there!

friends-wise i'm happy that the 28/01 spirit is still very much alive! though the ktv sessions have dwindled because we are all rather busy with work or school, we still find time to catch up over dinners etc. anyhow, both kenneth and yuyuan have finished their overseas stints, so gatherings are easier now. however, gatherings with the secondary school gang are almost non-existent, the guys are too busy to meet me with the exception of derek, who bothers to inform me whenever he returns to singapore for summer break.

i will be trying to go back to church this year and i have to thank jensie for being a wonderful supporter. i'm blessed to be in an environment close to god, i feel more at peace with myself recently because i know i can always turn to god who is a faithful god =) 2008's prayers from sas chaplaincy and trinity have been rather apt for me, i pray that god will guide me in achieving a higher capacity to hold more of things and situations and also that i'll stay faithful to and lean onto him. hope jensie and bf enjoyed themselves at the watchnight service!

    happy new year! happy 2008!
